Polycarbonate is an extremely sturdy and impact-resistant material. It is normally used clear, but opal and other colour combinations are possible. In contrast to most other transparent plastics, polycarbonate can withstand higher temperatures and can be thermally shaped. It can be worked fairly easily and is therefore to be found in a wide range of applications.
Standard polycarbonate is less UV-resistant but Imatex primarily uses UV-resistant polycarbonate in its supply programme.
