PET

Famous brands:

Griphen®, Hipex®, Spectar®, Veralite®, Axpet®, Vivak®,…

Characteristics:

There are two main variants, namely PETG and APET. PETG is fairly easy to work and can be thermally shaped at reasonably low temperatures. APET is mainly used as flat material because it is less suited to thermal shaping – the sheet crystallizes and acquires a white outline as a result. PETG on the other hand is better suited to bending, folding and vacuum forming.

Normal thicknesses: 1-10 mm, other possibilities on request

IMATEX Datasheet PetG

Polyethylene terephthalate (or PET for short) is a mainly transparent plastic sheet with good impact resistance. PET is less suitable for high temperatures.
